Mothers of Modern Ireland

Will we ever get there?

20th June 2008

With each day that passes we get closer to our deadline of the 28th June, when we leave for Ireland. I think we are all starting to get nervous not only about the enormous scale of this gig but of the fact that we have only now covered about 1/3 of the country and we have 9 days left to go. At this point we have only 8 newspapers left to contact and when we have these we will have contacted every local and regional paper in Ireland but it still baffles me as to why the national press still refuse to give us any coverage. Every call brings us a little closer to our goal and I am confident that in a weeks time that we will be in a very strong position. We had two radio interviews today with Shannonside Fm and Feile Fm so hopefully that will bring us into contact with some more Grannies.

We know have Kerry covered which means we can easily schedule our first week of the shoot which is a pretty good place to be at this point. I have also been in contact with

The Milwaukee Irish Festival and they are very interested in screening the film in 2009. It has been a hectic week but very rewarding and I hope that the momentum that we are gathering can continue into the next week. Shane
